In defense, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in a statement issued at Abuja – Nigeria on Thursday, November 19, 2015 through their spokesman, Mr Timi Frank who is the Acting Publicity Secretary for APC has denied any such plan, stating that, it has no hand in any alleged assassination attempt on Ekweremadu. In the statement, PDP referred to such an allegation by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) as “induced hallucination.’’ frank

Timi Frank further stated that it was unfortunate that PDP has resorted to cheap blackmail considering that they are yet to purge their party of cheap and manipulative strategies that has placed them in the downwards spiral that they are in today.

Frank further stated that the last sixteen years with PDP in power has witnessed the assassination of notable politicians like Chief Bola Ige, Harry Marshall and Funso Williams with no attempt at solving the case. Frank said, “It would therefore, be unfortunate for the PDP to elevate this strategic act it had perfected over the years to a political art or a propaganda tool,’’
