FG Move 47 Boko Haram Members from Ekwulobia Prison – Anambra State

Reports say the Federal Government has moved 47 Boko-Haram members from the Ekwulobia Prison in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State.

Vanguard Newspapers reports that the inmates were moved amid tight security on Tuesday night.

Reports say the presence of security men have reduced and the snipers positioned on the roof of the prison, have been withdrawn.

Vanguard also reports that resident living around the prison, could not confirm that the prisoners were moved.

Speaking to Vanguard, the President of Ohaneze chairmen for the South East and South –South, Dr. Chris Eluemunor, said “We are happy to hear this. I thank Governor Willie Obiano who insisted from the day they were brought that they must leave the state. I went to the governor and told him that I would allow him only one month to ensure that they leave the state, otherwise Ohaneze would do something the country would not  like. Since this has been done, I sincerely thank the governor.” Source: Pulse Ng
