Police spokesperson Major Thulani Zwane said that on Thursday the Madadeni Regional Court convicted and sentenced the father to life imprisonment for raping his daughter.
“We welcome a hefty sentence that was handed down to the accused and this will serve as a strong message to would-be rapists,”Zwane said.
“The mother of the victim realized that her child was abused by her father since she was seven years old and she reported the matter to the police last year. The Newcastle Family Violence, Child Protection Unit took owner investigation that led to the arrest of the accused.” Source: IOL News
