The court has granted a request by the former National Security Adviser (NSA), Sambo Dasuki, to travel to the United Kingdom, to receive specialized Cancer treatment.
Dasuki’s request was granted by the presiding Judge, Justice Adeniyi Ademola, based on health grounds.
Justice Ademola also dismissed the prosecution’s argument that the former NSA should not be allowed to travel, because the ailment can also be treated in Nigeria.
He also ordered the Federal Government to release Dasuki’s traveling documents to enable him go for his treatment outside the country.
Punch Newspapers reports that the court ordered Dasuki to get a surety who will “swear to an affidavit of consent to an imprisonment in the event that the defendant absconds, till the period he is re-arrested.”
The former NSA will also be required to return his passport to the registrar of the court, 72 hours after returning to Nigeria. Source: PulseNg
