Pennsylvania Senators are considering a proposed process that could lead to the removal of Pennsylvania State Attorney General, Kathleen Kane from office.
A five-page resolution was introduced by a Special Committee that could lead to a hearing on Jan. 12, 2016 where Kane would be able to give her side of the story. Fifteen days later, the Committee would then issue their report.
The main aim of the hearing would be to determine if Kane, whose law license has been put on indefinite suspension, can continue performing her job without a license.
The State Attorney General currently faces criminal allegations that she leaked secret grand jury material and lied under oath about it.
Kane’s said the committee’s work violates the state constitution. Her spokesman, Chuck Ardo, says she’ll decide how to respond once she’s had an opportunity to review the resolution carefully.
